Bangladesh is located in a region which includes two 'illegal' nuclear powers and has a predominantly Muslim population. It sides with the Arab league on many important world issues but also keeps level headed and does not totally oppose US Foreign Policy- a lot like Pakistan. Interestingly enough, we do not recognize the state of Israel which makes us an interesting player in the Middle East conflict. Environmentally, Bangladesh is also the country set to suffer the MOST from the Global Warming epidemic. (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/5344002.stm)
It is also home to a large number of UNDP development programs and is one of the leading contributers to the UN Peacekeeping force. So really, to all those who do not feel Bangladesh was a good choice- I encourage you to actually look into the country before passing judgement... 150 million people, thats quite a few...

In Venezuala and Iran we seem to have picked the two most fearless countries in the world as far as speaking out against the US goes. They may not be the largest delegations but they will still be hard to get due to their current political significance. Germany, Brazil and Italy will also be hard to get but are all powerful in their region. The Netherlands would be a great country to get due to the fact that they are in so many committees and a fairly powerful nation. It seems like we have picked a really good list of nations and really, any two of them would be great to represent!

So we voted in favour of Bangladesh after all? ......

So we voted in favour of Bangladesh after all? ... interesting.
